More Johnny Vertigo

Johnny's non Golem power level 10 sheet. (the Spell names at the bottom are my favourite part. Johnny Vertigo Jr. (Power level 10 Mage) The mages in Johnny’s family all use the obvious magicks with their own personal twist. Johnny for example tends to use more of a jack of all trades  array, whereas his father was all about illusions mind control, and misdirection. The spells all come from the family member who created them. Each member creates their own signature spell, (and shares it with any family member who wants to use it) thus the naming conventions. (Think Carnivale) The Family is a sideshow Preacher Fake Faith healer group originally who have left that world behind (When Johnny was a boy of nine) and scattered to various corners of the world, all plying their magical trades wherever they may be. Johnny was sidetracked and ended up back at his point of Origin. The father was at one time leader of a church of thousands, on Fire Island, had there been radio

Mutants and Masterminds Characters

Almost as long as I've been back playing D&D, I've also been playing in a different friend's Mutants and Masterminds Campaigns. These are superhero RPG settings. I've played an eternally reborn Egyptian Prince called "The Scarab" (think Hawkman meets Blue Beetle) in a pretty straight up super hero(but zany as all hell) campaign, a Sorcerer trapped in a Golem's body (John Constantine trapped in a Golem body, basically) during an elder Gods inspired 20's prohibition era NYC setting. In the fall I'll be playing (as we upgrade to 3rd edition Mutants and Masterminds) a in a sort of Steampunk setting in the 1860's. My character is going to be a 19th century Indian Jones, but a lady, so like Lara Croft, but without so many guns, and normal sized boobs. She will have some small "powers" but this is to be more of an "ability & skill" game I think, than a big super power game. I won't be posting her Character and back

D'espondea's War Journal part 1

Excerpted from D’espondea's Journal: Today I changed my name, and well, my demeanor. The latter I fear may be more long term than the former. After what I saw this eve, I may well be despondent long past my death. I will someday be a sad ghost. I was taking my usual midnight trip to the kitchen for the last of the day's milk warmed up, and mayhap a cookie or two when I noticed an odd flickering light coming from my Uncle's room. I heard his voice speaking some language I had not ever heard. Curious I peeked in through the cat door, which have to be left open in our house, else the cats would claw your eyes out whilst you slept. They need free run. As I have mentioned in my old "Diary" (the ramblings of the "Innocent", sigh) My Brother Reg has always taken after our Uncle Vezkin the Wizard more than anyone else, despite Reg's size, he's always been a gentle and intelligent giant of a lad. Now that he is almost of age, his

What The Heck, Another Blog?

Yeah, I wanted to share my Game-logs, character backgrounds, and other sundry ephemera of playing the Table Top RPG games that I enjoy so much. Thing is, lately, as I am transitioning (my Transition Blog), my interest in gaming has been waning. I want to keep gaming, I get a lot out of it. So I'm going to start doing more game logs (not for in game stuff, unless asked to) and little character bios/short stories that give me someone to pretend to be when I'm gaming. Doing all the back story, and game logs (which may or may not reflect the reality of the game session, I do the logs mostly in character, as a Diary entry, "war journal" or whatever style of reportage fits the campaign. The quality is not polished on any of these, and I won't be doing any editing other than fixing some obvious typos/grammar I may have missed when originally writing. My first few posts will be some of my favourite Game-logs and character bios from games I've played in the last
