a little tidbit for my Pathfinder Game

Turns out one of the NPC's has been lying about who she is.... The group finds this letter addressed to "The Gang" upon their Oracle's tidy bedroll, just before the game starts. a little morsel to whet the appetite. "Gloriana’s" Last Letter Fellows, it is with a heavy heart that I bid you farewell, as, if you are reading this, I have already left Skull Island. You might think I have run off with that beautiful Fetchling Baritone who you well know I have been trysting with.  Alas, that was not to be so. While I may stray off the path my Goddess has strewn for me at times, the young baritone is about as evil (- in a radiating it at such an intensity that it makes one who is sensitive to such things a bit dizzy, and eventually, vomitously ill, kind of way) as it gets. Twas merely a tryst, but no more; as you likely do not know also, I am once again single. My wedding contract with Craddock the Djinn, Bess’ right hand man, is over. I am fort...

Day before Game Ephemera

Gloriana’s Journal (Operation Operatown) Today I found a flyer tacked to a pole about the re-opening of the only remaining Opera House in Operatown, which I find to be quite sad, myself. Most of the other dozen or so ruined or former Opera house, only one or two are being used for anything: The Police Station, and one in The Black Market Zone that is now a Bank. Anyway, the flyer: Tonight is the premiere, Free Admission, first come first serve. I immediately went to stand in line. I was kind of late at 5am, but got tickets for me and my compatriots... I had been hearing all kinds of interesting things about the Opera house in our short time here.  The word is that each opera company that takes over (average of a new troupe every couple or three years) assassinates the current troupe in a very Operatic fashion, the violence being real, but almost a performance as well amongst the murderous Tenors, and scheming Sopranos, et al. I miss the days before I started my wa...

More Background Writing for my Pathfinder Game.

{Excerpted From the DragonPort weekly (and perhaps world's only) Newspaper, The Tatler} The following is a translation from Old Dwarvish into the common tongue, from the Original Source Material provided to the Weekly Tatler, and this reporter. The following report,  be it truth or fiction, was found to be a scroll on a kind of vellum not seen since the time the old Lands were young; a scroll that washed ashore inside a rather large wine bottle, magically corked. Your Reporter of Tales Tall & Small: El-Ray P. Dodds Presents: The Last Dwarf In the Old Lands ,  A Memoir by Rusilka Muntansdottir , Last of The Old Dwarves . My name is Rusilka Muntansdottir , I am fairly certain that I am the last of my kind , at least on this continent ; I have searched all the lands I could not find any living souls , and those were few enough in this barren wasteland that legend says was once lush , gre...

Some Ongoing Game Ephemera

So, I'm rebooting my D&D (Pathfinder) campaign, but rather than do a full reboot, I want to try to keep my old game going but bring in a bit of new blood. my plea on Facebook yesterday nabbed me one interested party at least. I'm really open to "guest star" players who want to drop in on a rules light narrative weirdness kind of campaign. for me it's more about co-operative world/narrative building, and eating chips, of course. My current storyline is kind of winding down, so I'm going to play that one out as schedules permit, and have a new player for the end of this campaign and ready, used to the other players for the next campaign. In prep for this one, I have my arcs, my big ideas figured out, but I needed a visual starting place, really. So I googled "blank fantasy world maps" the below image (sans place names) came up first. I filled in the names myself, based on the game so far and my plans for the future. Currently the...

New game log from my M&M game

*** From a Mutants & Masterminds Game that I'm Running. The PCs are Herakles (you know Hercules) , Doctor Dynamo (1940's homefront hero, retired energy controller, & Suzy Dynamite, speedster and wife of Doctor Dynamo. They are thrown into a time travelling/alterante earth travelling hero named the Grey Clock. they are Exiles, of a sort, bouncing from world to world, trying to stop a menace that might destroy all the earths. Mister Mystic is from the same world as Dynamo, and Dynamite, he was sometimes their team mate fighting saboteurs fifth columnists, and gangsters during WW2. He, like them was forced into at least semi retirement (he is the sorcerer supreme) by HUAC and the McCarthy hearings. I will use Mystic's voice for my game logs I think. The Diary of Mister Mystick  ( Excerpt from Chapter 5: The Alternate Earth Years, or how I learned that there’s always a version of yourself out there somewhere worse off than you .) Dear Ferdinand, It is wit...
